We appreciate everyone who attended the REMC 6 Byte-Sized Learning Workshops over the past few months. If you weren't able to join us, there's good news - Byte-Sized Learning will be offered again next year! Save the dates and make a plan to join us to learn about Esports, Artificial Intelligence, Tech Tools, and more! Workshops will take place from 4-6 pm on October 17, December 3, January 23, February 20, and April 15; snacks and SCECHs provided.
Starting in August, REMC 6 is hitting the road with REMC Roadshows! Explore all the new maker materials we have to offer, as well as tried and true favorites, in a relaxed, open-house format. Possible times to incorporate a REMC Roadshow could be during PD days or staff meetings; email me at colea@baisd.net to set up a date and time that works for your school.

Nature Awaits offers a new opportunity for children to experience Michigan’s outdoors. All fourth grade classrooms are eligible for a FREE experiential field trip to select state parks to support their classroom learning. Learn more and register HERE
Attention district leaders, elementary principals, curriculum directors, instructional coaches, teacher leaders, and other local leadership concerned with elementary science education! Join us on May 29th at Michigan State University Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center to focus on creating a research-based, sustained pathway to science education for our youngest learners. Return to your districts ready to support elementary science moving forward. This FREE event includes breakfast and lunch, but registration is required. Educators have multiple opportunities to participate in M-STEP assessment committees. Whether you want to review existing items for content, bias and sensitivity, participate in the writing process, or review data for field test items, you will work with a team of educators to ensure a high-quality science M-STEP. Statewide K-5 science teacher training to ensure that elementary students have access to high-quality science. This includes 1-day workshops for 18 different units. Applications to participate in grade-level workshops are due by June 24th and sessions are limited to 20 participants each. Applicants will be notified shortly after July 10, 2024, if they have been accepted and will receive final registration instructions. Apply HERE today!
Ready to take your science teaching to the next level? The Calhoun (MI) Intermediate School District (Marshall, MI) will be hosting in-person Level Up! 3D Assessment two-day workshops in June. Sessions are FREE to all Michigan educators and include SCECHs. Work with colleagues and experts to unpack performance expectations and write 3D formative assessment tasks for your students. New this year is a bonus assessment writing workshop day on June 28, where all past and current Level Up! participants will develop and write assessment questions. Learn more HERE.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your creative ideas to life! Grants can be used for a variety of purposes, such as purchasing new teaching materials, developing unique learning experiences, or piloting new classroom technology. MSTA will be awarding four grants of $1,000 each to support innovative science education projects created by current MSTA members. Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2024. Explore Educational Technology, Blended Instruction, STEM/STEAM, and Wellness at this mini-conference on August 7th (8:00 am - 3:30 pm). The full day of learning, playing, lunch and prizes will take place at the Calhoun Area Career Center (Battle Creek, MI) and is FREE for all REMC Association Member Districts. The REMC Association of Michigan is thrilled to announce a unique webinar series tailored specifically for educators, aimed at fostering collaborative learning and delving into various AI topics such as risks and best practices in education, enhancing instructional practices, and cultivating student AI literacy. This AI webinar series is open to all educators in Michigan and there is no registration or SCECHs fees. Dates are June 11, 13, 18, and 20. Register today, seats are limited to 40 for each session.
The CSforMichigan Collaborative is ecstatic to offer this opportunity for middle & high school educators! Each session will offer background information, future studies, and practical resources to explore the impact of AI on education. This series will take place July 10th - 12th as part of TeacherCon at the Doubletree in Bay City and is geared towards 6th-12th grade teachers, as well as consultants and coaches that support practicing educators. No programming experience required! All participants must complete the application process in order to attend and will automatically be considered for a full scholarship. The REMC Association of Michigan is hosting a Student Podcast Challenge! Students in grades 5-12 can create their podcast individually or as a group. Teachers just need to submit the podcast recording HERE by September 30th. Podcasts will be judged on information, structure, personality, creativity and production. Need help creating the podcast? Attention current high school juniors and seniors! Registration for the Generation Next Embedded Coding Scholarship Competition is open through May 12th. Create an embedded controller capable of solving a series of challenges and puzzles to compete for one of five $2,000 renewable scholarships and a co-op/internship with Nexteer Automotive. Applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be interested in pursuing an engineering degree within the state of Michigan.
The Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center is excited to introduce CTE Summer Camps for students entering 5th-8th grade. Each career camp is filled with fun, hands-on activities allowing students to acquire new skills and complete exciting projects in a safe educational environment. Camp options include: cosmetology, culinary, healthcare, public safety, skilled trades, and STEM. All camps include a continental breakfast, lunch, and t-shirt.
Camp dates: June 17th - 20th from 8 am - 3 pm

Join us for the Bay County STEM FEST at Delta College on Saturday, June 8, 2024! From 9:30am-12:30pm, Saginaw STEM will be hosting Bay County STEM FEST, powered by Hey, Bay City! Students will get hands-on experience with more than 30 STEM stations plus build, race, and keep their own model car!
