Assistive Technology Request Procedures
Ipad/AAC Request
If you an individual is looking to request an Ipad for the purpose of AAC
(Alternative and Augmentative Communication), they must:
- Complete the Bay-Arenac ISD Assistive Technology and AAC Request Form in its entirety.
- Upon retrieval of your request you will receive a confirmation email.
- that your request is fulfilled and/or if additional information is necessary.
- The individual requesting the device will receive an email one the device is ready for pick up.
- Trial devices are intended for a 6-8 week period to determine the need of the device.
- Upon retrieval of the requested device, data must be collected over the course of 6-8 weeks. Data should include but not limited to:
- How the student is doing within sessions sessions/within the classroom, how much prompting they require, how their language is expanding, level of assist)
- Data can be a collection from a variety of sources (i.e SLP, teacher, OT, parent)
Assistive Technology Request (Other than AAC)
If an individual is looking for assistive technology, tool or strategy to assist a student in instruction or access to instruction, they must:
- Complete the Bay-Arenac ISD Assistive Technology and AAC Request Form in its entirety.
- Upon retrieval of your request you will receive a confirmation email
- that your request is fulfilled and/or if additional information is necessary.
- If an individual is need of assistance with determination of assistive technology, please specify in the request or contact Katie Butzu directly at butzuk@baisd.net
